Luke 12:37-40
“It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants who master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let the house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.”
Would you be satisfied with your life in Christ if He were to return today? Did you detour to encourage your friend in need with the Word of God or did you simply carry on with your day because you had somewhere you needed to be? Did you love today? Did you confront that boy in your class about the harsh comments he made toward you or did you simply let his words brew in your heart and cause you to become bitter? Did you forgive today? Jesus can come at anytime and therefore, we should always be living examples of the Truth, walking in His light. But despite contrary belief, being a Christian is not about being perfect rather it is realizing how imperfect we are and how much we need Christ to save us from ourselves. It is loving others because He first loved us, and it is forgiving those who have wronged us because He has forgiven us. Because of His saving grace, we no longer have to be conformed but transformed as Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” With Christ, the chains that once held us so deeply in bondage have been broken and we are set free. Our debt has been paid by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and there is nothing that the enemy can do to steal the victory that is already ours. Let us rejoice and live in freedom, prepared for when our Father returns to take us home.
Application
Today, I will read my prayer journal from when I first came here to now and point out the prayers that the Lord has answered in just this short time of training.
