Cleansed by His Blood

Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things.”
It is amazing the change we encounter when we bathe ourselves in the Word of God. We begin to have a mind like Christ and the thoughts we once had begin to fade into the nothingness they always were. Once we are cleansed by His blood, we are no longer indebted to our thoughts of condemnation, of evil, or of impurity, but we are set free. However, it is one thing to say something, another thing to apply it and especially when it comes to our thought process, this can take an ample amount of time to alter. Thoughts are the most difficult to control because the mind is so unbelievably sophisticated and it tends to wander when our guard is down, which is usually 99.9% of the time in which we are awake. Though we might not want to think about a certain aspect of our life, if the heart of the issue remains, the enemy knows we are still weak and will use our wandering minds to detour us away from the Lord. This ultimately causes us to stumble in our journey of growth, tempting us to fall back into sin which we are seeking to overcome. This is why we as Christians must never let our guard down because the enemy is always lurking. We must continue to keep our thoughts focused on the Lord because when we allow them to wander, we lose sight of the Reason and the wheel that He has centered us on becomes unbalanced. It is at this moment that the enemy has a stronghold of our perspective which shifts from clarity to confusion. It is at this moment that we begin to question who, what, when, where, and why. Why are we thinking this way? What does this mean? It is only through the Lord that we are able to overcome the thoughts that oftentimes overcome us. It is only through the Lord that we are able to achieve Philippians 4:8. Let us never forget the Reason, let us never forget that our God is greater. 

Application
Today, I will write this verse down on a notecard and place it on my mirror as a reminder to remain focused on the Lord everyday.

Vision for Success

Acts 5:29 “Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!” Peter is referring to the high priest who is accusing the apostles of teaching the word of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem when He specifically ordered them not to. Peter follows this rebuke with, “We must obey God rather than human beings!” There is only One in which we are to obey fully, and He is the Man who bled and died. Regardless of how mighty someone is placed in the world, the Lord knows everyone for who they are, sinners in need of a savior. Everyone has their alcohol, even those in authority. How can we obey authority that sins? Romans 13:1 says, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.” Everyone submits to someone because without authority, there is no order, and without order, there is chaos. Picture Perfect

Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a god work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” They say that good things take time but to be completely and utterly transformed into the likeness of Jesus takes a lifetime.
